Golden Half Dome

It is difficult to photograph something unique in Yosemite. I wanted to make an image of Half Dome and I wanted it to be different. The sun was beginning to set and so I waited for something to happen (patience is the photographer’s main tool). I remembered what Ansel Adams said about photographing the internal versus the external event and it dawned on me that for any one of us this could be the last sunset we ever see. As I sat watching nature light the Dome, I realized that our uniqueness will render the scene according to our individual interpretation. Please, be my guest!
