Walnut Grove with Sour Grass

Whenever we can, my wife and I pack up the truck and drive up Route 1 that runs along the coast of California. It is magnificent country and presents awesome photographic opportunities. Lakes, mountains running to the ocean, beautiful shoreline, waterfalls, bays, sand dunes and more. And, oh yes, ice cream. I would be on the worse end of a divorce if we did not stop in Arroyo Grande for some ice cream. While there, we decided to ride through the countryside. Wonderful! And what to our probing eyes should appear as we rounded a curve but a huge field of bright yellow flowers. After seeking permission to photograph (and promising to send the owner some images), we set out to "work" the field. Actually, it’s a grove of walnut trees with "sour grass" all through it. Whatever, it was great to shoot and even greater just to look. Nature at it’s best!
